We have a large selection of restoration materials for re-polishing, refinishing or re-gilding. Our antique restoration kits will help by repairing and polishing your timber to a beautiful sheen using traditional waxes, fillers and our renowned polish reviver. The French polish reviver will remove dirt and grime without damaging the original patina. You can restore the original lustre and appearance using traditional methods and this will maintain authenticity. The aim is to preserve the historical and artistic value of the item while respecting its original character. If you do need to re-polish then you can use high quality waxes or French polish finishes as this is what was used originally on most antiques.
What is the best product to restore an antique wood finish?
Here at Priory Polishes we sell a whole range of furniture refinishing products that you can use to restore wood. We offer our very own brand along with many other traditional names like Liberon and Fiddes. Whether you are looking to restore antique furniture to a Vienna clock we stock it all and are always available to advise what is best for your project. As we have been restoring antiques for over 20 years we have the knowledge and only sell products that we use in our own workshops. Usually we would always clean the surface using Priory Polishes polish Reviver. This wood restoring polish will remove all the years of dirt without damaging the original patina. We would then suggest to fill any old holes or makes using either shellac sticks or wax filler sticks. We usually find it is best to use a coloured furniture wax to finish and we offer our own finishing beeswax for this purpose. Always apply in thin coats and buff up between coats using a lint free cloth or wax buffing cloth. The coloured wood wax will help to mask minor marks and add a protective layer to your antiques. We have many other antique wood furniture restoration products available so please have a browse and contact us for advice or help.

Our restoration materials are used by cabinet makers and antique restorers across the world and are often seen on TV programs so you can use them with confidence.
