Description
Rustins Shellac Sanding Sealer has been made from Flake shellac that has been dissolved in alcohol. It is suitable for sealing all types of wood prior to French Polishing, before waxing or as a finish in its own right. It also contains additives that facilitate sanding when dry.
How to use Rustins Shellac Sanding Sealer
1. Wood should be clean and smooth.
2. If grain is open, fill with Rustin’s Grain filler.
3. Furniture that is to be renovated should be cleaned with white spirit and fine wire wool to ensure that it is free from grease and wax.
4. Use a wood stain if required.
5. Shake well before use
6. Apply liberally with a soft French polishing brush and allow to dry.
7. Rub down lightly with glass paper or very fine 0000 wire wool before applying a second coat
8. When used as a finish rub with 0000 steel wool and wax using a good quality wax finish.
Please note
Drying Time is 1-2 hours and Re-coating Time is 2 hours, depending on temperature and humidity.
Use in a warm, dry atmosphere, ideally 15- 25 ºC
The coverage is 13-15 sq metres per litre
All equipment must be cleaned whilst wet with Methylated Spirits.
Always test in a small inconspicuous area first to ensure you are happy with the results.

Highly Flammable. Harmful by inhalation, in contact with skin and if swallowed. Keep out of reach of children. Keep container tightly closed. Keep away from sources of ignition- No smoking. Do not breathe vapour. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. In case of accident or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice immediately; (show the label where possible).
