Description
Polyvine Wood Dye is the perfect product to colour and enrich wood. This quick drying, light fast, versatile, water-based wood stain has minimum grain raising. The colours can be intermixed to produce the exact shade required. It is suitable for use indoors and outdoors, but must be finished with a suitable coating after application. Formulated to avoid unsightly overlap marks, this wood dye will create an even lustrous finish.
We offer all colours – black, white, teak, mahogany, walnut, medium oak, antique pine, grey and taupe.
How to use Polyvine Wood Dye
- Ensure the surface is clean, dry and free of any previous finishes, wax, oil, grease and dust etc.
- Stir before use, do not shake.
- Apply liberally with a brush or clean lint free cotton cloth and wipe off any excess immediately, working with the grain wherever possible.
- For a lighter shade, the wood dye may be diluted with water.
- For a stronger colour apply a second coat after 4 hours.
- Make sure you have sufficient wood dye to finish the work.
- If more than one tin is required, mix the contents together in a clean container to ensure uniform colour.
- We recommend protecting with a Polyvine water-based varnish after leaving to dry overnight.

Always test product on a spare or inconspicuous area for compatibility and end result.
CAUTION – Different woods and wood grain will alter the appearance of wood colour.
COVERAGE – Approx. 10-20 sq. m per litre.
CLEAN UP – Any equipment used can be cleaned using soap and water before the Wood colour dries. Wipe any excess off surfaces with a damp cloth. Any dried deposits will need a paint stripper to remove them.
STORAGE – Store in unopened containers in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight.

Remove excess from tools and mixing vessels before washing in warm soapy water. Do not empty containers into drains or watercourses.
