Rustins Quick Dry Outdoor Clear Varnish – 500ml

Description

Rustins Quick Dry Outdoor Clear Varnish is a Clear water-based acrylic varnish, available in Gloss and Satin finishes. It offers long lasting protection to all external wood, allowing the natural grain to show through. It is used on exterior joinery both hard & softwood, doors, windows, garden furniture, conservatories. It may also be used as a sealer for concrete. It is Low odour, non-yellowing, resists cracking, peeling and blistering. The varnish has very little effect on the colour of the timber that it is applied to.

How to use Rustins Quick Dry Outdoor Clear Varnish

1. Surfaces must be clean, dry and free of wax, grease and contaminants, smooth and sound.
2. Fill large cracks, open joints and damaged areas with high quality flexible filler.
3. Wash oily woods, knots or resinous areas with white spirit.
4. Remove mould, lichens, algae & moss with brush, scraper & domestic bleach, then rinse thoroughly and allow to dry.
5. Wood Dye may be applied to bare wood prior to varnishing.
6. Stir the Rustins Quick Dry Outdoor Clear Varnish well before use
7. Using a synthetic brush, apply liberally with a full brush finishing with the grain.
8. The first coat may be diluted with water on hot days (up to 15%).
9. Do not apply to hot surfaces or in strong sunlight if possible or if rain is likely.
10. Apply 3 coats and lightly sand after 1st coat if there is raising of the grain.
11. It is usually touch dry in 30 minutes. (On hot days may be touch dry within 10 minutes) and Re-coating Time is 4 hours minimum, depending on temperature & humidity.

Please note
The application Temperature is Ideally 15-25°C. Do not apply below 10°C, or in high humidity or if rain expected.
The coverage is 12-15sq.m per litre, 1 coat, depending on absorbency of surface.
Re-coat every 2 to 3 years.
Clean with a mild detergent solution and lightly sand to provide key.
It may be applied over old existing coating if these are in good condition and rubbed down to provide a key.
If the existing coating is not in good condition it should be removed with Rustins Strypit Paint and Varnish Stripper.
If applying over wood preservatives test on a small area to ensure the varnish dries and adheres well.
Stir well before use or it may dry glossy if not adequately stirred.
Store in the original tightly closed container in normal conditions. PROTECT FROM FROST.
Clean brushes with water whilst still wet. If dried-on, clean equipment & brushes with Rustins Brush Restorer.
