What wood oil is best for my floor?

We have lots of different types of oil for wood floors but some of the best can be seen here on our floor oil category. This includes fiddes hard wax oil, a durable interior wood finish and Osmo Polyx Oil that comes in a clear or protective oil wood stain. Both are an oil wax oil wood treatment so are easy to apply and maintain unlike many other finishes. Hard wax oil can be used on soft woods, hard woods and on engineered wood flooring. What is the best wood oil for exterior use?

When it comes to exterior wood oils, we do have a separate category here. You will see a full range of outdoor wood protection oil including oil based wood preserver for sheds. You need to ensure you choose the correct wood preservative oil for your project and this is where we can help and advice. Do you offer a Coloured / Tinted Wood Oil?

Yes, we have a wide range of tinted wood oils available and you can see most in our Hard wax Oil category. This can range from oil based wood stain for oak and other timbers like Pine. These can be used to lighten or darken the tone, whilst still leaving the grain natural looking and visible. We also offer coloured oil for wood in very vibrant tones to make a real statement of your project.

What different sheen can I get wood oil in?

Wood finishing oil can come in a clear or tinted shade and some brands offer a different sheen to choose from. One of the most popular finishing oil for wood is Osmo Polyx Oil tints as this can come in many different colours but you can also choose the sheen from Matt, Semi Matt, Satin or Gloss. This one of the best oils for wood furniture / Floors as you can get your chosen colour with preferred sheen. Most exterior wood oils are only in a satin but Osmo also offer an oil finish for exterior wood called Natural Oil Wood Stain that can come as a satin or a Matt finish. This is quite a nice option if you want to keep your garden fences, gates, summer house or pine trusses in a more natural Matt sheen.
