With any newly sanded floor you need to apply a hard-wearing finish that is water resistant. The best finish to achieve this would be a Hard Wax Oil. Hard Wax Oil is a wax/oil combination that works perfectly to penetrate the wood and offer maximum protection. Most of these floor waxes will offer scratch and scuff resistance and will protects against liquid spills. Because of the finish, it will not crack, flake, peel or blister and is very easy to maintain by re-applying when necessary. Osmo Polyx Oil comes in clear or Polyx Oil Tints, available in Glossy, Satin, Semi-Matt or a Matt finish. There is also a Rapid version for quick drying. Fiddes Hard Wax Oil is also very popular with traditional Fiddes tinted shades. We also have many other brands to choose from and if you are unsure on what to choose, please contact us for advice, as we are always available to help.
Wood floor wax is typically made from a blend of natural waxes such as beeswax and carnauba wax to be used to maintain wood but also add a nice sheen. Floor wax is usually applied by spreading a thin layer over the floor surface and then when nearly dry, buffing it with a machine or a soft cloth. This will create a shiny, durable finish on most wood floors and can easily be re-applied when necessary. We offer a few products that are ideal for this purpose. If you are looking to treat a traditional finished floor then we offer Liberon Floor Wax or Antiquax Original Liquid Wax Floor Polish. Both will add a protective layer and are very easy to use. If you have previously treated with a Hard Wax Oil then we do have Osmo Wash and Care to clean and maintain the finish.
Yes, we do offer Liberon Stone Floor Wax for use on stone, terracotta, quarry tiles and other natural and man-made stone floor tiles. This wax protects, nourishes and enhances the colour of the stone floor whilst also offering a slip resistant finish.
