Description
Osmo Country Shades Elements – Fire offers 30 unique shades inspired by nature with flames and smokey tones in mind. This opaque satin, natural oil based wood finish will cover the wood and grain whilst the wood texture remains noticeable. Osmo Country Shades comes in 120 bespoke colours (see our Osmo Shop Page for all colours).
The Micro-porous surface allows the wood to breathe, so reduces swelling and shrinkage. It creates a water-repellent, extremely weatherproof and UV stable surface that does not crack, peel, flake or blister. No sanding necessary, just simply re-coat; no primer is needed. It is easy and seamless application and the finish stays workable while coating. The dry finish is safe for humans, animals and plants (resistant to saliva and perspiration acc. German DIN 53160, suitable for children’s toys acc. EN 71.3)
Osmo Country Shades Elements – Fire is best suited for all wood in outdoor areas where an especially durable coating is required like on timber cladding, balconies, windows and window shutters, fences, pergolas, wooden shingles, garden furniture and garden sheds, carports etc. Ideal for renewing old microporous finishes and weathered wooden surfaces.
How to use Osmo Country Shades Elements – Fire
- The wood surface must be clean, dry and frost-free (moisture content max. 20%).
- Osmo Country Shades is ready to use. Do not thin.
- Stir well before use.
- If possible, please apply the first coat to all sides before installation.
- Clean old micro-porous stains thoroughly. Old paints, varnishes and lacquers must be completely removed. Always wear dust mask while sanding.
- If additional protection against blue stain, rot and insects is desired, pre-treat the wood if possible on all sides with Osmo WR Base Coat.
- The finished surface and the product coverage are influenced by several factors, including the condition of the wood. Therefore, a trial application is always required, especially for unfamiliar surfaces.
- Apply with an Osmo Flat Brush and apply thinly and evenly to the clean and dry wood along the wood grain and spread well.
- Allow to dry for approx. 10-12 hours under good ventilation.
- After drying, apply a second coat – also thinly.
- When renovating, one coat applied to the clean and dry surface is usually sufficient.
