Description
Osmo Tannin Spot Remover is very effective in the removal of black spots on wood species containing tannic acid such as Oak, walnut, cherry, and mahogany. It can remove black tannin stains and spots on untreated or oiled wood surfaces in indoor areas. Osmo Tannin Spot Remover is especially recommended for wooden flooring (e.g. parquet), work surfaces or garden decking and furniture made of Oak.
How to use Osmo Tannin Spot Remover
- Remove and dirt and dust etc. from the surface.
- Tannin Spot Remover is ready to use. Do not thin.
- Before applying, always test on a small area first to ensure compatibility.
- Spray Osmo Tannin Spot Remover evenly onto the spot until the surface is completely covered.
- Allow product to react for around 45 minutes and wipe with a lint-free cloth.
- If necessary, repeat and then wipe clean with clear water.
- After drying, apply a suitable Maintenance Oil (like Polyx oil) on the treated area, so that the wood is protected again.
Please note
- Osmo Tannin Spot Remover contains biodegradable oxalic acid.
- Protect metal (e.g. furniture hardware) and plants against direct contact (e.g. cover farm and ornamental plants with a tarpaulin or place out of reach).
- Odour: faint/mild, odourless after drying.
- Flash-point: not required pH value: 1-2.
- Storage: 2 years and longer if stored in the closed original can. Do not expose to frost or temperatures above 30 °C!
- Cleaning of tools: With soap and water.
- Drying time: Before applying a new coating, allow the wood to dry thoroughly (approx. 24-48 hours). Lower temperatures and/or higher air humidity may increase drying times.
- Coverage: 1 litre covers approx. 10 m² (depending on intensity of the stains) with one application. Product coverage depends significantly on the condition of the wood.
Health and safety
Keep out of reach of children. Contains mixture of: 5-chloro-2-methyl-2 H-isothiazol-3-one (CMIT) and 2-methyl-2 H-isothiazol-3-one (MIT) (3:1). May cause an allergic reaction. Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand. Safety data sheet available on request.Disposal: Dispose of leftover product and completely emptied packaging according to local official guidelines (waste code number 07 06 99). Only completely emptied cans can be recycled.
