Description

Nushine Silver Plating Solution is designed to restore worn silver-plated items by depositing a layer of pure silver onto exposed base metal. It is suitable for restoration work on items where the original silver plating has worn away and the underlying metal is showing.

Unlike conventional electroplating, Nushine is applied directly to the surface using a soft cloth or cotton wool. It can be used on suitable exposed brass, copper, bronze and unpassivated nickel, making it a useful product for antique restoration, silverware and decorative metalwork.

Available in 50ml, 100ml and 150ml bottles.

Features and Benefits

  • Deposits a layer of pure silver onto suitable exposed base metals.
  • Useful for repairing worn silver plating on suitable items.
  • Can be applied by hand without electrolysis equipment.
  • Helps restore a bright, reflective silver finish.
  • Can be reapplied to suitable worn areas where additional coverage is required.
  • Available in 50ml, 100ml and 150ml sizes.

What Can Nushine Silver Plating Solution Be Used On?

Nushine Silver Plating Solution is designed for use on suitable surfaces where the underlying base metal is exposed. Applications include:

  • Worn silver-plated items: for treating areas where the silver plating has worn through.
  • Brass: for adding a silver finish to suitable exposed brass surfaces.
  • Copper: for silver-plating suitable copper items.
  • Bronze: for treating suitable exposed bronze surfaces.
  • Unpassivated nickel: for suitable nickel surfaces where the solution can make direct contact with the metal.

The solution will not deposit additional silver onto unworn silver plating, and it cannot work through lacquer or another coating. Any existing lacquer must be removed where appropriate so that the solution can contact the underlying metal directly. Always test first on a small, inconspicuous area.

How to Use Nushine Silver Plating Solution

  1. Prepare the area. Cover the work surface and wear suitable protective gloves.
  2. Shake the bottle. Shake thoroughly before use.
  3. Apply the solution. Use a clean, soft cloth or cotton wool to apply the solution liberally to the area being treated.
  4. Rub firmly. Rub the surface for approximately 15 seconds. Darkening may occur while silver is being deposited.
  5. Buff the surface. Polish lightly with a clean, soft cloth to reveal the shine.
  6. Repeat if necessary. Worn or high-exposure areas may require further applications.

Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and safety information supplied with the product. Avoid contact with the eyes and prevent the solution from entering drains or the environment.

Important Information

Direct metal contact is essential. Nushine Silver Plating Solution works on suitable exposed base metals, including brass, copper, bronze and unpassivated nickel. It will not plate through lacquer or deposit additional silver onto unworn silver plating.

Wear gloves during application, as the silver in the solution can leave dark staining on the skin. Protect surrounding surfaces and test the product before treating valuable or delicate items.

Nushine Silver Plating Solution for Antique Restoration

Nushine Silver Plating Solution is a useful addition to restoration materials for repairing worn silver-plated decorative objects, fittings and other suitable metal items. It provides a straightforward alternative to electroplating equipment for small restoration jobs where the underlying metal is compatible with the product.

Choose the bottle size that suits your project and follow the manufacturer’s instructions to achieve the best result.
