Description

Liberon Floor Oil is designed for use on untreated real wood and parquet floors. It penetrates the timber to provide protection against everyday wear and tear, staining and scratches, whilst enhancing the natural colour and grain of the wood.

The oil leaves a natural soft sheen and hard-wearing, slip-resistant finish. It is also microporous, allowing the wood to breathe, and is suitable for use in areas such as kitchens and bathrooms.

How to Use Liberon Floor Oil

1. Sand the floor if required and remove all previous finishes.
2. Ensure the surface is clean, dry and dust free.
3. If you wish to colour the wood, apply Liberon Palette Wood Dye first and allow it to dry for a minimum of 8 hours.
4. Apply Liberon Floor Oil with a brush, cloth or roller, working with the grain wherever possible.
5. Allow the oil to penetrate for 10–20 minutes, then remove all excess with a clean, dry lint-free cloth.
6. Apply a minimum of 3 coats, lightly sanding between coats.
7. Allow at least 12 hours between coats and 24 hours after the final coat before heavy use of the floor.

Coverage: 1 litre covers approximately 10–12m².

Cleaning and Maintenance

Clean the floor with a damp cloth and wipe up spills immediately. For stubborn stains, use a mild detergent or lightly sand the affected area before re-applying Floor Oil.

Re-oil the floor when the surface becomes dull or dry. To check whether the floor is sufficiently sealed, place a small amount of water on the surface and leave for 10–15 minutes. If the water remains on the surface, the floor is adequately sealed. If it is absorbed, further coats of Floor Oil may be required.

Please Note

Oil finishes enhance the natural colour of timber, so always test Liberon Floor Oil on a spare piece of wood or an inconspicuous area before applying to the whole floor.

Oily cloths can self-combust. Do not leave oil-impregnated cloths in bundles. Lay them flat outside to dry before disposal to reduce the risk of fire.

Clean brushes with White Spirit.

Health and Safety

Flammable. Keep out of reach of children. Do not empty into drains. Use only in well-ventilated areas. Repeated exposure may cause skin dryness or cracking. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting; seek medical advice immediately and show the container or label. Contains methylethylketoxime and may produce an allergic reaction.
