Hotspot Stove and Fireplace Products

Hotspot produces specialist products for maintaining, restoring and protecting stoves, fireplaces, grates and associated surfaces. The range includes high-temperature paints, stove and grate polish, glass cleaner, fireplace cleaner, stove rope and adhesives, together with specialist metal and slate care products.

At Priory Polishes, our Hotspot range is suitable for a variety of stove and fireplace maintenance jobs, from refreshing the appearance of a stove to replacing door rope or cleaning soot and smoke deposits from suitable surfaces.

Hotspot Stove and Fireplace Paint

Hotspot Stove and Fireplace Paint is available in matt black and can be supplied as either a traditional brush-on paint or aerosol. It is a high-temperature coating designed for suitable applications including wood and multi-fuel stoves, fireplaces, grates, fire baskets, fire backs and barbecues.

The product is heat resistant up to 650°C when correctly applied and cured. For best results, the surface should be cool, clean and free from loose rust, scale, dirt and grease before painting. Always follow the manufacturer’s preparation and curing instructions.

Hotspot Grate Paint

Hotspot Grate Paint provides a high-temperature decorative and protective finish for suitable cast iron and steel grates. The silk black aerosol is formulated for high-temperature applications and is heat resistant up to 500°C.

A thin coating allows heat to transfer effectively through the painted surface. Make sure the grate is cool and properly prepared before applying the paint.

Hotspot Stove and Grate Polish

Hotspot Black Stove and Grate Polish is a water-based matt black polish for suitable wood and coal stoves, grates and surrounds. It can be useful for covering minor rust spots, scratches and paint chips while providing a rich matt black finish.

The polish is applied sparingly and buffed once dry to achieve the desired appearance. It is particularly useful where a traditional black stove and grate finish is required.

Hotspot Stove Glass Cleaner

Hotspot Glass Cleaner is designed for cleaning suitable stove glass on wood, coal and oil-burning stoves. Regular cleaning can help remove soot and other deposits that build up during normal stove use.

Always allow the stove and glass to cool before cleaning and follow the product instructions for safe application.

Hotspot Fireplace Cleaner

Hotspot Fireplace Cleaner is formulated to remove smoke, soot and tar stains from suitable hard surfaces around fireplaces. It can be used on materials including brick, stone, concrete and marble, subject to the manufacturer’s instructions.

It is particularly useful for cleaning fireplace surrounds and other hard surfaces affected by smoke and combustion deposits. Do not use it on decorated or painted slate or stone, and always test compatibility where necessary.

Hotspot Stove Rope and Rope Adhesive

Hotspot Stove Rope is available in different diameters for suitable stove and fireplace door applications. Replacing worn or damaged rope can help maintain the seal around a stove door.

Hotspot Heatbond Stove Rope Fixative is designed for securing stove rope in place. Choose the correct rope diameter for the appliance and follow the manufacturer’s instructions when removing old rope and installing the replacement.

Hotspot Slate Oil

Hotspot Slate Oil provides a finishing and maintenance option for suitable slate surfaces associated with fireplaces and stoves. It can help enhance the appearance of slate while providing a suitable treated finish.

Always check the product instructions and test on an inconspicuous area before treating the whole surface, particularly where the slate already has an existing finish.

Hotspot Multi-Use Metal Polish

Hotspot Multi-Use Metal Polish is suitable for a range of metals including copper, brass, nickel, pewter, chromium, silver and gold. It is designed to clean, polish and provide a longer-lasting shine to suitable metal surfaces.

It can be useful for maintaining metal components and decorative surfaces associated with stoves and fireplaces, as well as other suitable metal items. Always test on a small, inconspicuous area before complete application.

Hotspot Xylene Thinners

Hotspot Xylene Thinners is available for use with suitable Hotspot products where the manufacturer’s instructions specify its use. It can also be used for cleaning equipment associated with certain solvent-based products.

Always check the instructions for the particular paint or product before selecting a thinner or cleaning solvent.

Choosing the Right Hotspot Product

The right Hotspot product depends on the part of the stove or fireplace you are maintaining and the type of surface involved.

For refreshing a stove or fireplace finish, consider Hotspot Stove and Fireplace Paint. For cast iron and steel grates, Hotspot Grate Paint or Stove and Grate Polish may be appropriate. For stove glass, use the dedicated Glass Cleaner, while Fireplace Cleaner is intended for suitable hard fireplace surfaces affected by smoke, soot and tar.
