How to use Osmo Wood Wax Finish Intensive Tones
- The wood surface must be clean, dry and frost-free (max. 18% moisture content).
- Osmo Wood Wax Finish Intensive tones is ready to use. Do not thin.
- Stir well before use.
- Clean old microporous stains thoroughly. Old paints and lacquers must be completely removed. As a general rule, wear a dust mask during sanding works.
- Fill small cracks, larger joints or holes in wood with Osmo Wood Filler.
- Sand wood surface carefully, begin with coarse sandpaper – final sanding work for flooring P120-150, for furniture P220-240.
- Before applying oils, remove sanding dust from the surface by sweeping or vacuuming.
- If possible, please apply the first coat to all sides before installation.
- Apply the Osmo Wood Wax Finish Intensive Tones with an Osmo Flat Brush.
- Apply very thinly to the clean and dry wood surface along the wood grain and spread well.
- For a more subtle stained effect, apply thinly with a lint-free cloth and within 20 minutes, wipe away cleanly and evenly. Ventilate well while drying.
- If you are looking for a more Intensive colour, apply two coats with Osmo Flat Brush but allow to dry between coats. The second coat should be applied thinly.

Cleaning and Maintenance
Use Osmo Wash and Care or Osmo spray cleaner for regular maintenance. For intensive cleaning and refreshing use Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner or Osmo Maintenance Oil. If areas need re-coating, lightly sand and re-apply one coat onto the clean and dry surface when signs of wear become visible.

The below colour chart shows the transparent colour on the Left (one coat of wax) and the Opaque colour on the Right (two coats of wax). This is a guide only and may look different on the type of timber you are treating and how porous the wood is.

Please note that these wood oils custom mixed in house at Priory Polishes using our Osmo tinting machine. We mix the wood oil on site to your colour specification which means we can offer our fast delivery and a full array of colours not available in many other stores. As these wood oils are tinted to order they cannot be cancelled, are non-returnable and non-refundable.
- For high tread surfaces such as flooring, only one coat of Intensive Colour is recommended, followed by one coat of Polyx Oil Clear for maximum durability. This will offer flooring a transparent colour tone.
- For white flooring, a top coat with lightly white pigmented Osmo Polyx Oil Tints 3040 White.
- Drying time of Wood Wax Finish used on floors, approx. 24 hours (normal climatic conditions, 23 °C/ 50 % rel. humidity). Ventilate well while drying. After 2-3 weeks, the floor surface is fully cured.
- In general, intensive colour applications (two coloured coats) are not recommended for flooring due to the risk of applying too much product.
- The finished surface is influenced by several factors, including the condition of the wood. Therefore, a trial application is always required, especially for unfamiliar surfaces.
- Applying the product too generously and insufficient ventilation lead to delays in drying time and the typical smell of oil.
- For dark and extractive-rich hardwoods (e.g. Wenge, Mahogany, Merbau etc.), we recommend applying Osmo Wood Wax Finish Clear Extra Thin. Trial application is recommended.
- Caution: Apply max. one coat thinly to cabinet interiors and drawers with a cloth.
- Using general or multi-purpose cleaners will increase the frequency of maintenance and re-coating. Allow finish to fully cure before heavy usage.
- This is a liquid base (not paste) and only suitable for bare untreated wood.

What is the difference between wood wax finish intensive tomes and transparent?
Wood wax finish transparent is used to create a natural looking finish keeping the grain of the wood still visible and in a wood coloured tone. Wood wax finish intensive is used to create a unique vibrant colour with shades such as red, blue or green and this will ask the grain with the more coats added. You can also create a two tone effect with the intensive range.

Keep out of the reach of children. Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand. Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. Warning: Wash out any used cloth impregnated with this product immediately after use or store in an airtight container (danger of self-ignition). The dried finish is classified as B2 (normal flammability) according to DIN 4102 regulations. Safety data sheet available on request.
