Priory Polishes Metal Cleaner is a liquid cleaning solution formulated to remove tarnish, grease, oil and dirt from suitable metal surfaces. It is designed for use on a wide range of metals, including brass, copper, bronze, gold, silver and platinum, making it particularly useful for antique restoration, jewellery care and cleaning decorative metalwork. Unlike a traditional polishing cloth, which is generally better suited to maintaining an already-clean surface, a liquid metal cleaner is particularly useful when dealing with heavier tarnish, accumulated dirt and oxidation. Once the tarnish has been removed, the surface can be wiped clean and dried thoroughly before applying an appropriate protective product.

How to Use Priory Polishes Metal Cleaner

1. Apply the metal cleaner with a clean lint free cloth
2. Buff into the metal until the tarnish is removed
3. Wipe off the excess with a clean cloth
4. Repeat where necessary
5. Rinse with water and dry thoroughly.
6. Once you are happy with the results we highly recommend you finish by using Priory Polishes Jade Oil to protect and prevent future tarnishing (on suitable items only, such as decorative show pieces).
7. This metal cleaner can be used in an ultrasonic cleaning machine in a ratio of 1 part metal cleaner to 8 parts water. Always follow manufacturer’s guidance on the ultra sonic machine.

How To Clean Brass

Apply a small amount of Priory Polishes Metal Cleaner to a clean, lint-free cloth. Work the cleaner into the brass, gently buffing until the tarnish has been removed. Wipe away excess cleaner with a clean cloth and repeat if necessary. Once you are satisfied with the result, rinse with water and dry the brass thoroughly. For ongoing protection of suitable decorative items, Priory Polishes recommends finishing with Jade Oil to help reduce future tarnishing.
