Rustins Rust Remover – 125ml – Removes Rust from Steel & Iron

Description

Rustins Rust Remover, Removes surface rust from mild steel and iron products. It is Ideal for use on outdoor Garden Gates, Bicycles, Cars and all Metal objects around the home. It cleans and shines most metals and is ideal for Brass and Chrome.

How to use Rustins Rust Remover

1. Shake the bottle well before use
2. Wipe surface free from grease and remove any loose rust with a wire brush, scraper or coarse Steel Wool.
3. Old or flaking paint which may be hiding rust should be removed with Rustins Strypit Paint & Varnish Stripper.
4. Apply Rustins Rust Remover liberally with a brush and leave until the rust has been dissolved or until fully dry. (A colour change from brown to grey will normally occur).
5. If the rust is thick, a second application may be required.
6. Small items may be dipped.
7. Before re-painting the metal, wipe with methylated spirits.
8. You can clean brushes with water.

Please note

Ferrous metals treated with Rust Remover should be repainted as soon as possible, preferably with a good quality anti-corrosive paint. Rust remover leaves a thin film of ferrous phosphate on the surface and unless painted with a Red Oxide within 2 days rust may reform.

Can be used for cleaning copper, bronze and chrome by using with 00 or 000 steel wool. The surface can then be polished with metal polish and prevented from re-tarnishing with Rustins Clear Metal Lacquer.

Always test in a small inconspicuous area first to ensure you are happy with the results.

Health and Safety

Flammable liquid and vapour. Causes severe skin burns and eye damage. Keep out of reach of children. In case of fire: Use carbon dioxide for extinction. Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/face protection. IF ON SKIN (or hair): Remove immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with water. Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.
