Hammerite Rust Remover | Gel or Dip

Description

Hammerite Rust Remover comes in either a Gel or Dip application. Hammerite Rust Remover Gel is specially formulated for the safe and effective removal of rust from metal. This non-drip formula is ideal for vertical surfaces and removes rust in only 2 to 3 hours. Hammerite Rust Remover Dip is ideal for car parts, nuts, bolts and garden tools. You simply immerse rusty metal items into the dip and after a couple of hours they will be rust-free.

How to use Hammerite Rust Remover Gel

1. Use a wire brush to remove loose rust.
2. apply the Rust Remover Gel liberally with a brush.
3. Work the gel into the surface.
4. Leave for 15-20 minutes. Repeat the process, applying additional gel as necessary at 30 minute intervals for a period of 2 to 3 hours or until rust is removed.
5. If the rust has not been completely removed repeat the procedure.
6. Allow to dry.
7. Note that under some conditions a light deposit of flash rust can develop. This can be wiped off or over-coated when dry.
8. To prevent new rust forming the surface should be over-coated the same day. For best results use Hammerite Metal Paint.
9. After use, remove as much Gel as possible from brushes before cleaning with running water using a wire brush to assist.
10. Do not use or store in extremes of temperature and protect from frost.

How to use Hammerite Rust Remover Dip

1. Use a wire brush to remove loose rust.
2. Shake container well and pour the required amount into a plastic container.
3. Dilute 1 part Rust Remover Dip with 9 parts water and mix thoroughly.
4. Immerse the rusty item in the diluted solution overnight.
5. Remove and rinse thoroughly under running water using a wire brush to remove rust deposits.
6. If the rust has not been completely removed immerse in Hammerite Rust Remover Dip for a further 24 hours.
7. Leave to dry.
8. To prevent new rust forming the surface should be painted the same day. For best results use Hammerite Metal Paint.
9. Do not return any surplus Hammerite Rust Remover Dip to the original container after use.
10. Do not use or store in extremes of temperature and protect from frost.
