Description
Antiquax Silver Dip is an acid-free silver cleaning solution designed to quickly remove tarnish from suitable silver items. Unlike a traditional silver polish, the item is immersed in the solution, so no rubbing is required.
It is particularly useful for silver items with intricate details, engraved surfaces and filigree work where tarnish can be difficult to remove with a polishing cloth.
Antiquax Silver Dip is suitable for Sterling Silver, Sheffield Plate and Electro-Plated Nickel Silver. It can also be used on suitable copper items.

How to use Antiquax Silver Dip
Antiquax Silver Dip is designed to remove tarnish by immersing the silver item in the cleaning solution.
- Put on protective gloves before using the product.
- Place the silver item into a suitable container of Antiquax Silver Dip.
- Make sure the tarnished areas are fully immersed.
- Leave the item in the solution until the tarnish disappears, but do not exceed 5 minutes.
- Remove the item from the solution.
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
- Dry the item thoroughly.
- If tarnish remains, repeat the dipping process rather than leaving the item immersed for longer.
- Once clean, polish with a suitable Silver Polishing Cloth if required.
Always test on a small, inconspicuous area first, particularly when treating valuable, antique or delicate silver.

- Silver bracelets
- Silver earrings
- Silver cutlery
- Silver tableware
- Silver coins
- Silver ornaments

Important information before using Silver Dip
Antiquax Silver Dip is intended for specific silver and metal surfaces. It should not be used on iron, steel, stainless steel, nickel, worn silver or artificially oxidised silver.
Take particular care with plated items. If the silver plating is badly worn or damaged, dipping may not be appropriate.
Always test a small, inconspicuous area before treating the whole item, particularly when cleaning valuable antiques or delicate objects.
Do not exceed the recommended 5-minute maximum immersion time. If tarnish remains, remove, rinse and dry the item before considering another treatment.
Store in a cool, dry place and keep the container securely closed when not in use.
Silver Dip vs Silver Polish
Antiquax Silver Dip is ideal when you want to remove tarnish quickly without rubbing. It is particularly useful for intricate, engraved and filigree silver where polishing by hand can be difficult.
Antiquax Silver Polish is applied with a cloth and is better suited to conventional polishing and removing surface tarnish and discolouration from silverware.
For heavily tarnished small silver items, Silver Dip can provide a quick first stage of cleaning. Once the item has been rinsed and dried, a Silver Polishing Cloth can be used to maintain the finish and improve the final shine.
