Description
Stones Furniture Cream is a traditional beeswax furniture polish suitable for both antique and modern wooden furniture. It adds lustre to wood while helping to maintain and enhance the appearance of the existing finish.
Stones Furniture Cream has been produced using a traditional formula associated with the Stones brand for generations. The cream contains beeswax, white spirit, pure soap and essential oils, with no silicones or artificial additives.
Its thin cream consistency makes it easy to spread sparingly over furniture before buffing to produce a smooth, attractive sheen. It is particularly suited to antique furniture and quality modern wooden furniture where maintaining the natural appearance of the timber is important.
Stones are a brand of furniture waxes that have been in production since the late 18th century. This quality Beeswax finish was made by Dr Stone who was a pharmacist in Exeter. He developed a traditional formula from Beeswax with no silicone and is widely used by antique restorers and collectors around the UK.

Uses for Stones Furniture Cream
Stones Furniture Cream can be used to maintain and enhance a wide range of wooden furniture and interior woodwork, including:
- Antique furniture
- Modern wooden furniture
- Tables and chairs
- Cabinets and cupboards
- Drawers and desks
- Hardwood furniture
- Traditional and period furniture
- Other finished wooden surfaces
Regular use can help maintain the appearance of the wood and build an attractive lustre over time.
Light or Dark Furniture Cream
Stones Furniture Cream is available in Light and Dark shades.
Light is suitable for lighter-coloured furniture and timber, while Dark is intended for darker woods where a deeper coloured furniture wax is preferred.
If you are unsure which shade to choose, consider the existing colour and finish of the furniture and choose the closest match. Always test the product on an inconspicuous area first.
How to Use Stones Furniture Cream
- For the best results, the existing furniture finish should be clean and free from dirt and old polish build-up before applying the wax.
- Dust the surface thoroughly. If the furniture is dirty or has accumulated old polish, clean and revive the existing finish first using a suitable furniture polish reviver.
- Apply a small amount of Stones Furniture Cream to a clean, soft cloth.
- Spread the cream thinly over the wood, working in the direction of the grain.
- Buff the surface immediately with a clean cloth or buffing cloth before the cream dries.
- Continue working over the surface until an even lustre is achieved.
- Allow approximately 2 hours before applying another coat if required.
- Apply the wax sparingly. A thin layer is easier to polish and helps prevent a soft or smeary build-up of wax on the furniture.
Maintaining Antique and Wooden Furniture
Stones Furniture Cream is particularly useful as a maintenance polish for antique and traditionally finished furniture. Used regularly and sparingly, it can help maintain the existing appearance of the wood and develop a pleasing sheen.
For older or particularly dirty furniture, it is generally better to clean and revive the existing finish before applying furniture wax. This allows the wax to be applied to a cleaner surface and helps achieve a more even result.

Questions and Answers
Do you offer Stones Furniture Spray aerosol polish?
Stones Furniture Spray aerosol polish is no longer available but we do still offer this wax in the traditional cream. This furniture cream can be used on all wood furniture and works extremely well on hardwoods to leave a nice surface shine. It adds a depth of sheen to tired or old surfaces. It can also be used as a top coat finish for new wood and this genuine wax polish does not contain surfactants, soaps or silicone.
Is Stones furniture cream suitable for wood floorboards?
This wax is not suitable for wood floors as it is not durable enough. Stones wax is more suited for furniture (especially wood antiques) as it is an easy to apply cream formula. For floors, we do offer several waxes that can maintain the original finish and add a nice sheen. One of the most popular products that we offer is Antiquax Original Liquid Wax Floor Polish as it is designed to protect against for high levels of foot traffic.
Please Note
Stones Furniture Cream is intended for furniture and interior woodwork and is not suitable for wood floors, where a harder-wearing floor wax or floor finish should be used instead.
Always test the product on a small, inconspicuous area before treating the whole surface, particularly on valuable or antique furniture.
Always wear protective gloves when using this product.
