Description
Rustins Boiled linseed oil has been modified so as to increase the rate of drying and hardness of the film. It is Ideal for oiling bare wood, adding to paint and softening Metal Glazing Putty. It is not suitable for oiling furniture or wooden floors, for furniture use Rustins Danish Oil or Teak Oil.
How to use Rustins Boiled linseed oil
- Ensure surface to be oiled is clean and dry.
- Shake well before use.
- Apply with a rag or brush and wipe off excess with a dry rag or cloth.
- Apply 2 – 3 coats initially
- Leave to dry for 24 hours dependant on temperature, humidity and film thickness.
- More coats can be applied if required.
Please note
The ideal application Temperature is 15-25°C.
Do not use below 10°C, or in conditions of high humidity.
The coverage is 11- 14 square metres per litre per coat, depending on the absorbency of the wood.
Re-oil periodically.
Surfaces treated with Boiled Oil can be cleaned with a damp cloth.
Compatible with most oil based products.
Refer to manufacturer before mixing with other products.
Store in an airtight container in a cool place.
It is important to replace the lid and ensure an airtight seal.
Clean-Up Clean brushes with white spirit or Rustin’s Brush Cleaner. Brushes that have hardened may be cleaned with Rustin’s Brush Restorer.
Always wear protective gloves when using this product.
Health and safety.
Low Hazard. Rags used for oiling should be laid out flat to dry; otherwise they may catch fire due to spontaneous combustion.
