Description
Polyvine Wax Finish Varnish combines the silky feel and traditional appearance of wax with the durability and protection of a modern varnish. Ideal for wooden furniture, MDF, cabinets, doors, bookshelves, staircases and other interior woodwork, it provides a smooth, natural-looking protective finish.
Available in Satin for a soft sheen or Dead Flat for a completely non-reflective finish. Polyvine Wax Finish Varnish is water resistant, stain resistant, abrasion resistant and heat resistant, while retaining the natural appearance of the wood.
How to Use Polyvine Wax Finish Varnish
- All surfaces must be clean and free from dust, dirt, oil and contamination.
- Ensure the Polyvine Wax Finish Varnish is well mixed but do not shake.
- Apply sparingly, brush out well using a good quality Varnish brush.
- Apply the first coat and allow to dry.
- Apply a second coat.
- On new wood and porous surfaces dilute the first coat 10% with water.
- Lightly sand wood in between applications to remove any raising of the grain that may have occurred.
- For a high level of durability and stain resistance, apply two coats of clear satin and one coat of clear dead flat.

How Long Does Polyvine Wax Finish Varnish Take to Dry?
Drying time is approximately 45 minutes, with a recoat time of around 2 hours and a full cure of approximately 5 days. Drying times can vary depending on temperature, humidity, ventilation, surface and application thickness. The finish should be protected from water and steam for five days after application.
