Polyvine Multi-Surface Lacquer for Furniture

Polyvine Multi-Surface Lacquer is an excellent choice for protecting furniture, particularly painted and upcycled furniture where a clear protective finish is required.

Its crystal-clear finish allows the colour underneath to remain visible while providing a durable protective coating.

It can be used on suitable tables, cabinets, chairs, painted furniture, picture frames and other decorative pieces.

Always test the lacquer on a small area first, particularly when applying it over painted or previously finished surfaces.

Polyvine Multi-Surface Lacquer for Kitchen Cabinets

Polyvine Multi-Surface Lacquer can be used on suitable kitchen cabinets to provide a clear, durable protective finish.

Its resistance to water, stains, heat and abrasion makes it particularly useful for surfaces that experience regular household use.

For the best results, ensure the existing paint or coating is fully cured, clean and free from grease, wax, polish and other contamination before application.

Always test adhesion and the finished appearance before completing the entire project.

Polyvine Multi-Surface Lacquer for Worktops

Polyvine Multi-Surface Lacquer can be used on suitable wooden worktops where a clear, hard-wearing protective finish is required.

The lacquer provides resistance to water, stains, heat and abrasion while maintaining the appearance of the surface underneath.

For porous timber, the first coat can be diluted with 10% water to help prime the surface before applying further coats.

Always carry out a test area first to ensure the product is suitable for your particular worktop and finish.

Polyvine Multi-Surface Lacquer for Metal

Polyvine Multi-Surface Lacquer can be used on suitable metal surfaces, including primed metal and metalwork.

It is formulated to bond to a wide range of surfaces and can provide a clear protective coating without significantly changing the appearance underneath.

For metal surfaces, ensure the substrate is properly prepared, clean and free from grease, oil, dust and contamination before application.

Always test adhesion before treating the complete surface.

Polyvine Multi-Surface Lacquer for Painted Surfaces

Polyvine Multi-Surface Lacquer can be applied over suitable fully cured painted surfaces to provide additional protection. It can be particularly useful for protecting painted furniture, decorative projects and other painted surfaces from everyday wear. However, the lacquer should not be applied over uncured oil-based paint. When applied over emulsion or latex paint, the lacquer may draw certain stains through the paint that were not previously visible. Always test a small area first for both adhesion and compatibility.

Dead Flat vs Satin

Polyvine Multi-Surface Lacquer is available in Dead Flat and Satin finishes.

Dead Flat

The Dead Flat finish provides a very low-sheen appearance with virtually no visible shine. It is ideal when you want protection without adding noticeable gloss to the surface.

Satin

The Satin finish provides a soft sheen while still maintaining a clear, natural-looking appearance.

For particularly durable Dead Flat exterior applications, we recommend applying Satin coats followed by a Dead Flat coat.

Polyvine Multi-Surface Lacquer vs Other Varnishes

Polyvine Multi-Surface Lacquer is different from a conventional wood varnish because it is designed to bond to a much wider range of surfaces.

Rather than being limited primarily to timber, Multi-Surface Lacquer can be used on suitable wood, metal, laminate, ceramic, tile, glass and plastics.

It is therefore particularly useful when a project contains multiple different materials and you want one clear protective product rather than several different finishes.
