Description

Rustins Metal Lacquer is a clear UV resistant lacquer that leaves a film and does not yellow or craze on ageing. It has excellent adhesion on chrome, brass, copper and silver. It keeps the shine on Brass, Copper, Chrome, Silver, Aluminium & most polished metals.

How to use Rustins Metal Lacquer.

  1. Before use, remove any old lacquer or finish if present, with Rustins Strypit Paint & Varnish Stripper.
  2. Clean and polish the surface with Rustins Metal Shine before applying the lacquer.
  3. Remove all traces of metal polish with warm soapy water and dry with a lint free cloth or paper towel.
  4. Apply the Metal lacquer using a soft clean brush and apply thin even coats. It is best to apply quickly.
  5. Further applications can be applied after 3 hours of drying in warm, dry conditions.
  6. For best protection, apply a minimum of 2 coats.

Important –

Do not apply in damp weather conditions. Rustins Metal Lacquer is not suitable for use on some metals such as mild & stainless steel.

Clean brush in cellulose thinners.

If possible objects such as letterboxes should be removed from the door so that at least one coat of lacquer can be applied to the edges of the reverse side.

The lacquer is best applied in dry warm weather as dampness can sometimes result in ‘blushing’ of the surface which results in a milky finish.

Always test in a small inconspicuous area first to ensure you are happy with the results.

Always wear protective gloves when using this product.
