Polyvine Wax Finish Varnish is a traditional clear wax-like, brush on, protective varnish which combines the silky feel of wax with the durability of a strong varnish. This creates a traditional feel of an aged smooth finish, like on aged or antique furniture. Available Satin for a subtle sheen or dead flat for a shine free surface. Polyvine Wax Finish Varnish still retains the natural appearance of the wood whilst producing subtle a sheen. It produces the perfect finish on Wood, MDF, wood furniture, bookshelves, fire surrounds, kitchen cabinets, staircases, doors and much more.
Available finishes Satin for depth and a soft sheen, dead flat for a completely shine free surface, coloured satin to transform wood with subtle, even shades.
How to use Polyvine Wax Finish Varnish
- All surfaces must be clean and free from dust, dirt, oil and contamination.
- Ensure the Polyvine Wax Finish Varnish is well mixed but do not shake.
- Apply sparingly, brush out well using a good quality Varnish brush.
- Apply the first coat and allow to dry.
- Apply a second coat.
- On new wood and porous surfaces dilute the first coat 10% with water.
- Lightly sand wood in between applications to remove any raising of the grain that may have occurred.
- For a high level of durability and stain resistance, apply two coats of clear satin and one coat of clear dead flat.

Appearance may vary according to the colour and type of wood and the number of coats.

COVERAGE – Approx. 15 sq. m per litre
DRYING TIME – 15mins-1 hr, depending on temperature
RECOAT TIME – 2hrs – 4hrs
CURING – Protect the finish from water and steam for 5 Days after application
CLEANING – Clean tools/equipment with warm soapy water, rinse well with clean water, allow to dry naturally.
STORAGE – Protect from extremes of temperature during storage and application.
Health and safety
Non-hazardous. Ensure good ventilation. Keep out of reach of children. Contact with eyes-wash immediately with warm water. Remove excess from tools and mixing vessels before washing in warm soapy water. Do not empty containers into drains or watercourses.
