Description

Osmo Concrete Oil (610) is an interior, clear, satin finish that impregnates nearly all types of concrete (exposed concrete), artificial stone, screed as well as microporous natural stone with a polished, sanded or break surface as well as for unglazed tiles. It is especially suited for treating wall panelling and flooring in the kitchen and bathroom as well as tabletops, window sills and kitchen worktops made from concrete. It uniquely combines the advantages of natural oils and waxes in one product, so it does not form a film on the surface, instead it penetrates deep into the surface. Through the impregnation with Osmo Concrete Oil, the microporous surface becomes water and dirt repellent as well as stain-resistant. Dust resulting from screed and concrete surfaces is greatly reduced.

How to use Osmo Concrete Oil

  1. The surface must be absorbent, clean, dry and frost free.
  2. Osmo Concrete Oil is ready to use; do not thin.
  3. Stir well before use.
  4. Apply the Concrete Oil with an Osmo Flat Brush, Floor Brush, Oil Finish Applicator Fleece (with Hand Pad Holder) or Microfibre Roller.
  5. Apply very thinly and spread well.
  6. Remove any excess product (pooling or streaks) with a pad or a lint-free cloth.
  7. For larger areas, remove excess oil with a rubber scraper and polish with a buffing machine (white pad).
  8. The liquid oil must be absorbed into the surface. There must not be any oil left on the surface.
  9. Allow to dry for 8-10 hours. Ventilate well while drying.
  10. Apply the second coat also very thinly. Again, remove any excess.
  11. When renovating already oiled surfaces, normally one coat on a cleaned surface is sufficient.

Cleaning and Maintenance

For day to day cleaning, it is recommended to use Osmo Spray Cleaner.

How to Apply Osmo Concrete Oil

Please note

Cleaning of tools: With Osmo Brush Cleaner (free of aromatic compounds).

Drying time: Approx. 8-10 hours (normal climatic conditions, 23 °C/50 % rel. humidity). Ventilate well while drying. Lower temperatures and/or higher air humidity may increase drying times.

Storage: 5 years and longer if stored in the closed original can. If thickened by frost, store at room temperature for 24 hours prior to use.

Coverage: Product coverage for 1 coat is 50 m²/1 l. It depends significantly on the character of the surface. All information refers to smooth surfaces. Other surfaces may lead to deviations in coverage.

Oils enhance the natural colour of the substrate (permanent wet effect). Trial application is absolutely essential. Impregnation may influence the slip resistance of the original surfaces.

White or very light-coloured stone/surface may yellow slightly as result of the oil treatment. The acid sensitivity of the stone (e.g. marble) remains unaffected.

Non-absorbent surfaces, such as glass, glazed tiles or ceramic, cannot be treated (impregnated). Substrates sensitive to solvents (e.g. plastics such as Plexiglas) must be protected.

A lack of ventilation leads to delays in drying.
