Description
Black Engravers Wax is for the repair/restoration of decorative inlays and Clock Dials along with engraving work. It is ideal for use on chapter rings, numerals other decorative engraving. Prior warming of the work piece can help the wax to attach securely into the channel. The wax then requires gently melting before application to the engraved channel using either a metal knife of spatula. It is a hard wax, so the use of heat will melt the wax into the engraving.
We now offer a back hard wax or black soft wax option. The hard wax is more difficult to use but will a create a more traditional hard wearing finish. The soft wax is ideal for very thin engravings and is easier to use but is not as stable in larger engravings. The wax sticks come in an approximate size of 1cm X 8cm.
Please note, whilst we endeavour to pack this product as securely as we can, occasionally it may get broken in transit, It is still perfectly useable and as such we will not accept returns on this item.

Q: I applied the Dial Engravers Wax to my second and date rings and this currently has gone green, will this go black?
A: When the wax has been melted this does appear to have a green tint especially in the thin areas where there is no engraving but once buffed this will look Black again, please see the images below:
