Description
Rustins Blackboard Black is a dense black paint, formulated using water-based acrylic resin. It is used for chalk / blackboards, notice boards and photographic work. It is quick-drying, low odour and Conforms to Safety of Toys Regulations BS EN 71 Part 3 1995.
How to use Rustins Blackboard Black
- The surface must be clean, smooth, sound, dry and free from wax, dust and contaminants.
- May be applied to bare wood, in which case 2 or 3 coats may be necessary to obtain the required film thickness. If you are applying to existing coatings, they should be cleaned with Rustins Surface Cleaner, White Spirit, detergent or sugar soap and sanded lightly to provide a key prior to painting.
- Stir well before use
- Using a synthetic fibre brush, apply liberally and evenly.
- It is usually touch-dry in 30 minutes but allow 3 days to fully cure before using chalk on the surface.
- Allow 6 hours between coats, depending upon temperature and humidity.
Please note –
The application temperature is ideally between 15-25°C. Do not use below 10°C or in conditions of high humidity.
Do not store below 5°C and protect from frost.
The coverage is approximately 12 sq.m per litre.
For maintenance, when heavily covered with chalk dust, wipe with a damp cloth or sponge. It may be applied over solvent and acrylic paint.
Clean brushes and hands immediately after use with water. Hard brushes may be cleaned with Rustin’s Brush Restorer.
Always test in a small inconspicuous area first to ensure you are happy with the results.
Always wear protective gloves when using this product.
Health and Safety
Non-flammable. Nil flashpoint. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical attention. After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of soap and water or a proprietary skin cleanser. Use only in well ventilated areas. Keep out of reach of children.
