Priory Polishes Clock Oil is a high-purity, medium-viscosity mineral oil specially selected for lubricating antique clock movements, mechanical clocks and watch movements. It is a saturated, non-reactive oil with excellent chemical and thermal stability and is designed to provide reliable lubrication without the problems associated with many cheaper, less-refined oils.

Clock Oil vs Turret Clock Oil
Priory Polishes Clock Oil is intended for the lubrication of standard mechanical clock and watch movements. For large clocks or applications where a heavier oil is required, Priory Polishes also offers Priory Polishes Turret Clock Oil.
The two oils should not simply be treated as interchangeable. Choose the oil appropriate to the size and lubrication requirements of the mechanism.

There is virtually no difference to the original Windels Oil. The company that made Windles oil, stopped trading many years ago and our Oil was made as a replacement by the previous owner of Priory polishes to have virtually the same properties. The current Windles Oil that you see for sale on the internet are mainly sellers just using the name ‘JD Windles’ but as this company no longer exists, I am unsure on what oil they are using.
