Chestnut Microcrystalline Wax for Woodturning

It can be applied by hand and buffed to produce a smooth sheen, or used with the Buffing Wheel System to achieve a deeper polished finish.

Compatible Products

For the best results, Chestnut Microcrystalline Wax can be applied over suitable Chestnut Products finishes, including:

It can also be used with the Chestnut Buffing Wheel System. Apply the wax after the appropriate preparation stages, allow it to dry for approximately 20 minutes and then buff with the finishing wheel to develop a rich, durable shine.

How to Apply Chestnut Microcrystalline Wax

For the best results, the timber should be clean, dry and properly prepared before applying the wax.

  1. Prepare and sand the timber smooth.
  2. Apply a suitable sanding sealer if required.
  3. Ensure the surface is clean and dry.
  4. Apply a very thin, even coat using a soft Lint Free cloth.
  5. Spread the wax evenly across the entire surface.
  6. Allow approximately 20 minutes to dry.
  7. Buff with a clean cloth or suitable buffing wheel until the desired sheen develops.

A little Wax goes a long way. Thin coats are recommended rather than applying a heavy layer of wax.
