Liberon Exterior Wood Protector – 1 Litre

Description

Liberon exterior wood protector is a versatile product which gives a water and UV resistant finish to most types of exposed timber. The clear finish will not alter the natural colour of the wood, but will form a protective barrier against weathering, sunlight and extreme temperatures of -10°C to +35°C. It is also ideal for use on both horizontal and vertical timber, making it suitable for pergolas, balustrades, fences, garden furniture and summer houses. Offering long lasting protection for up to 3 years on vertical timber in most climates and up to 18 months on horizontal timber, it is quick drying and easy to apply.

How to use Liberon Exterior Wood Protector

1. Ensure the surface is clean, dry and free from previous finishes and dust.
2. Lightly sand new wood or clean old wood with Liberon Garden Furniture Cleaner for wood.
3. On Hardwoods: It is recommended to leave the wood exposed for up to 12 months before applying this product. This allows the grain in the wood to open and breathe and aids adhesion of the product.
4. Stir very well before use to disperse all the ingredients in the tin.
5. Ensure the weather conditions will be dry for 24 hours before application.
6. Apply a generous, but not too thick, coat of exterior wood protector with a paint brush or roller.
7. Allow to dry for 2 hours then apply a second coat.
8. A third coat may be necessary on very porous timbers.
9. Any unabsorbed product remaining on the surface should be evened out with a brush to avoid unsightly marks.
10. Leave to dry for at least 24 hours before use.

Clean tools with water

For general maintenance clean with water. We recommend applying a further coat of exterior wood protector in heavy usage areas as and when required.

Wear suitable clothing and protective gloves.

Store Liberon exterior wood protector at a temperature above 5°C. Always replace the lid otherwise the product can deteriorate.

May not be suitable for some foreign hardwoods, test first on an inconspicuous area.

On exterior oak we recommend the use of Liberon Pure Tung Oil.
